It’s been a full 5 months since the release of Luna Beta 1 and we’ve been hard at work to bring you the next beta. elementary has received tons of positive feedback from happy users all over the world. We’ve also received a flood of testers and bug reports. We’re happy to announce that we’re ready to release our second beta with over 300 fixes! Here are a few of the big ones:
Developers and testers, today we are happy to announce the first beta release of elementary OS Luna. We've been working hard the past year and a half to create the next generation of elementary, and it begins with this beta.
elementary OS is a massive effort to build the best, most beautiful, and easiest desktop computing platform. So far we’ve created one of the most popular icon sets, the meticulously crafted (and equally popular) elementary theme, a suite of cohesive well-designed apps, the Granite development library to make building beautiful apps easier, and much more. Today it’s time to announce the next step for the elementary platform: AppCenter.
A new version of Pantheon's Terminal app has just been released. With this release, the terminal gains many new settings, several bug fixes, and a few new features.
The latest release of Noise is here. It brings a whole slew of fixes and a few new features for a total of 80 bug reports closed and 1 blueprint implemented.
A year and a half ago we released elementary OS Jupiter, our first foray into the world of operating systems. It was an incredible learning experience and caught the eye of a lot of people. We received many positive reviews and grew our userbase exponentially in the following months.
We’ve been undertaking a lot of work since Jupiter in order to release another excellent version, and one huge element of that work has been Pantheon. Today we’d like to introduce a newer project that’s been shaping up extraordinarily well as an integral part of Pantheon: Gala, the new window manager.
Our march towards Luna goes on! Scratch has reached a high point in its development, so I'm announcing the release of the next version: Scratch 1.1.1.
I am glad to announce that Pantheon Terminal has reached the first stable release.
We're hard at work getting elementary OS Luna ready for release; we're getting closer every day! Yesterday we talked about some of the work that has to be done before Luna is released, but today we're gonna take a look at the more visual side. Say hello to Luna's default wallpapers.
