Something Super Secret
That's about all we can say; we spent much of the meeting discussing a secret/surprise topic. While we love to keep things as transparent as possible, some things are better left quiet until they're ready.
Further Discussion of Nonprofit Status
We discussed the idea of registering as a not-for-profit organization further and looked into the Software Freedom Conservancy. We're going to discuss this further after reaching out to other projects.
Ubuntu Developer Summit
The Council went over plans for UDS including who is able to attend, shirts, on-the-scene Journal entries, and more. In addition, the Council has decided to sponsor me to attend! I'll be keeping you updated straight from UDS October 31 through November 4.
It's been about 7 months, so maybe it is time to tell the secret.
I agree. This is the longest I've had to wait for any surprise! I think it's best told otherwise the surprise will go stale before it even reaches us... Cassidy, you might as well open up ;)
Surprises are best revealed the moment they're ready, not before. If I was throwing you a surprise birthday party but told you about it the day before, it wouldn't be a very good surprise. ;)
Can't you even tell when you will reveal that secret? Will it disappoint us? Is it big enough to surprise us?

Saying you have a secret says to me that you wat to tell us what it is very desperately so tell us :P

Yeah, there seem to be a lot of things they provide. There are a couple of downsides and much more to look into, though, which is why we haven't jumped on right away. And thanks! I'm so freaking excited about UDS. :D

Could that secret be elementary merchandise store? Or brand new application? The latter doesn't seem very likely. Anyway I don't like you teasing us with this. But at the same time I love it! :D Can't wait!

I also like the improvements to the journal layout, but I think the categories pushing everything to the right make it look off-balance.

Also, wanted to say I like the changes you guys have made to the journal page. The icons / cropper captures look super.
Yeah, Dan and Kiran have really been rocking at the web design stuff. I'm just glad the stories can now get the good looks they deserve. ;)
