How do I make a bootable USB stick from OS X?

I have tried about everything to make a bootable elementary OS USB stick from within OS X (Lion) - without success. Unetbootin makes a nice FAT32 partition with everything on, but is for some reason not bootable. What makes it even more confusing is that i managed to make a bootable USB stick with the most recent Fedora ISO without problems...

It would be nice to get some new sugestions that could solve this problem, and make it into the official documentation! (http://elementaryos.org/docs/usb-sticksd-card)

Thanks, but I tried using unetbootin and it did not work. I found out that the mac-version is missing some important components, so it will not do its magick with the MBR of the USB stick :(

Ended up installing fedora, using unetbootin there, and then installing elementary OS. It's an unnecessery step, but it works :)
